Cardio-Vascular
Testing and Biological Age Reversal
“The simple health check
that could save your life!” -
Dr R Verkerk BSc MSc PhD DIC
What is Cardio Check and what
can it tell us?
The Cardio Check test is the first non-invasive
test that is able to assess arterial health.
It is a revolutionary new approach which complements
the conventional blood pressure measurements,
providing additional information on arterial
stiffness and cardiac function.
Cardio Check will take a snapshot of the elasticity
of the arteries. It will test the heart rate,
artery flexibility, hydration levels and overall
cardio-vascular health, which can indicate
the risk of developing of cardio-vascular disease
leading to a heart attack or stroke.
How do I know I can trust the test?
Cardio Check is supported by the conventional
medical arena. It is a British manufactured
device, medically approved for use in hospitals.
Clinical trials have been led by doctors from
St Thomas’ Hospital and from the Centre
for Cardiovascular Biology and Medicine at
Kings College, London.
Similar devices have been used by scientists
in laboratories for many years. Cardio Check
is the first commercial example of this equipment;
it is hand held for ease of use and can be
simply and effectively used by a trained operator.
Limitations of the test
We are not doctors and whilst the test is
absolutely reliable, it is only an indicator
of the condition of the vascular system. Anyone
who is found to have a poor result will be
advised to see their Doctor.
How does the test work?
Details of age, weight, height and sex are
entered into the machine. A sensor is clipped
to the end of a finger and a harmless infrared
pulse is passed through the finger.
This pulse measures the speed and rate of
flow of blood through the arterial system allowing
arterial condition to be assessed.
What will the test tell me?
The Cardio Check will produce a number of
readings:
Heart Rate |
Reflection Index |
Stiffness Index |
Comparative arterial age |
The two key statistics given by the device
are the Stiffness Index (SI) and the Reflection
Index (RI). The higher the SI reading (against
an established norm), the greater the arterial
stiffening. The RI is an indicator of vascular
tone and tells us how clogged our arteries
may be. Together, these readings enable the
Cardio Check to estimate a comparative vascular
age. Sample data gathered from a cross section
of healthy subjects is stored in the device
and serves as a benchmark for comparing the
results of each test.
You will be given a printout of the test results
to keep in a folder which gives a full explanation
and interpretation of the readings.
How long does the test take?
The entire test process, including analysis
and discussion of the results, should take
between 20-30 minutes. Your results are absolutely
confidential.
What if I get a poor result?
If the test shows you have a stiffening of
the arteries, the good news is that there are
a range of steps that can be taken to help
improve the condition of the arteries.
We will look at your current lifestyle to
determine whether you can become more ‘artery
friendly’ and offer help and advice in
this area.
We will also be able to give you information
on a totally natural supplement based on Nobel
Prize winning cardio-vascular research which
can help reverse the ageing of the arteries
and support healthy blood flow.
